Application checklist and R&D note, DSIR recognition of in-house R&D unit

DSIR recognition of an in-house R&D unit is not a grant and not a tax approval. It is a gate, for the scientific-research deduction, for scoring in BIRAC and other calls, and for some import concessions, and it lapses on a fixed date. The most common failure is a client who assumes recognition alone lets it claim the R&D deduction, or who lets recognition expire in the middle of a claim year.
