RULES AND REGULATIONS
OF
[NAME OF THE SOCIETY]
I. Preliminary
1. Short title. These rules may be called the Rules and Regulations of [Name of the Society] and shall come into force from the date of registration of the Society.
2. Definitions. In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires: “the Act” means the Societies Registration Act, 1860 as applicable to the State of [State]; “the Society” means [Name of the Society]; “the Memorandum” means its memorandum of association; “the General Body” means all the members of the Society for the time being; “the Governing Body” means the body to whom the management of the affairs of the Society is entrusted; “Registrar” means the Registrar of Societies of [State]; and “financial year” means the year commencing on 1 April and ending on 31 March.
