The auditor's report annexure — what it is and why it matters to you
What it is. Attached to your audit report is an annexure in which the Government requires your auditor to answer a fixed list of questions about your company — twenty-one of them. They are yes-or-no questions about specific facts: are your title deeds in the company's name, do the stock statements you file with your bank agree with your books, have you defaulted on any loan, are your statutory dues paid up, have you been declared a wilful defaulter, have any frauds been noticed. It is not extra audit work you are commissioning; it comes with the audit, and it is public once your accounts are filed.
What we need from you. Mostly documents you already have: sanction and renewal letters for every bank facility, the quarterly stock and receivable statements you filed with your lenders, title deeds, your statutory dues position, your related party approvals, your CSR workings, and your internal audit reports. We will ask for these specifically because each maps to a question we must answer.
