Check the State matrix before each remittance. The figures were checked on 30.10.2026 against the source named in the last column of each row; several of those sources are published commentaries on the Act or notification rather than the Board's own notice, and rows still marked "Unverified" (Chhattisgarh and Odisha) could not be confirmed. Rates change by State notification without notice to employers, so before the first remittance confirm each figure, the coverage and the due date from the State Welfare Board's notification or portal, overwrite the row, update its status with the date and source, and keep a copy of the notification in the file. 1. What the levy is

The labour welfare fund is a State levy under each State's own Act, collected per employee for each contribution period with an employer share on top, and paid to the State Labour Welfare Board, which uses it for welfare schemes for workers and their families. No Labour Code repealed or replaced any State Labour Welfare Fund Act: the Acts continued unchanged on and after 21 November 2025. Do not confuse the fund with two other levies:
